The Centrifuge Operator operates a variety of mechanical and manual servicing equipment for industrial services, waste management, and tank cleaning. In addition to operating heavy equipment, you will be tasked with unloading waste from incoming trucks.

Skills and Experience: 

  • 5+ years related experience; 1+ years of Centrifuge Operating experience
  • Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs. 
  • Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC). 
  • Basic safety courses including site specific procedures; All required local training, Successful completion of all required and OSHA training as a condition of employment. 
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities or his/her position. 
  • Must have access to a telephone. Compliance with physical requirements. 
  • Attention to detail. 
  • Ability to follow procedures. 
  • Safe driving. 
  • Reading, writing, and comprehending in English.

Responsibilities 

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times; 
  • Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated. 
  • Hands-on experience on operations of Decanter centrifuges, belt presses, filter press and ancillary equipment (pumps, conveyors, etc.). 
  • Operation of special equipment, such as centrifugal and positive displacement pumps; Operating valves, pumps, monitoring tanks levels, lining end dump trailers, routine housekeeping.  
  • Operate 5K hotsy pressure washers. 
  • Assures unit is never operated in an unsafe manner or in a manner which is inconsistent with Standard Operating Procedures. 
  • Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements. 
  • Assures that all containers are properly secured, i.e. chock blocks, jack stands; 
  • Wears the personal protective equipment prescribed by posted signs, written instructions, and work permits. Also, wear additional protective equipment specified by his/her supervisor or clients Safety Department. 
  • Promotes safety through own actions and work habits. Reports all accidents and near misses, involving self, company vehicles, or other job personnel to his/her supervisor immediately. 
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors 

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. 
  • Alternating day shift, night shift, 24/7 operation, must be able to work nights and weekends as well.Â
