Accounting Specialist – State Agency – $18-20/hr W2 – Phoenix (Onsite) – Closes Thursday

SunSoftOnline is hiring an Accounting Specialist for an Arizona state agency's Financial Management Services division.

Hard requirements, read before applying:

  • Currently living in the Phoenix metro area (Avondale, Glendale, Mesa, Tempe, Surprise, etc. all count), your current city must appear on your resume; no relocation candidates
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future, W2 only, no C2C

The work: assisting in the collection of receivables, including returned payments, tax and audit assessments, civil penalties, and miscellaneous receivables; locating and contacting customers by phone, email, and letter; applying state statutes, rules, and agency policies; processing credit card and check transactions and daily deposits; bank levies, bond claims, and debt referrals; validating, recording, and reporting revenue; and general ledger accounting including account analysis and reconciliations. Fast-paced, multi-tasking environment; the role is cross-trained across all department duties and writes and maintains desk procedures.

The facts: $18-20/hr W2 depending on experience · Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM · 100% onsite, downtown Phoenix · 6-month contract starting ~September 7 · in-person interview in Phoenix within a week of the posting close · start within two weeks of an offer · HireRight background check and drug screening.
