Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Dealership Title Clerk to join our team. In this important role, you will handle all vehicle title and registration processing to ensure every deal closes smoothly and in full compliance with state regulations. You’ll work closely with our sales team to deliver an exceptional experience for our customers while keeping title work accurate and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process title and registration paperwork for new and used vehicles in compliance with state DMV / county tax collector requirements
  • Prepare, review, and submit all required documents including bills of sale, odometer statements, lien releases, tax forms, and title applications
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all title work before submission to the state
  • Coordinate lien payoffs with banks and financial institutions
  • Maintain accurate records and track outstanding title work; provide regular status updates to management
  • Quickly resolve title discrepancies, missing documents, or issues that arise
  • Handle out-of-state title transfers and multi-state registrations as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of experience as an Automotive Title Clerk or in a similar dealership administrative role REQUIRED
  • Working knowledge of state motor vehicle title and registration laws and procedures (Florida experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with dealership management system (Lightspeed / Lightspeed EVO) is a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel / Sheets)
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Notary Public certification is a plus
