Department: Service
Employment Type: Full-Time and/or Part-Time
Compensation: $18.00–$21.00 per hour (non-exempt, hourly; based on experience and qualifications)

Position Overview

The Service Porter supports the dealership’s service department by assisting with vehicle movement, customer flow, and lot organization. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in dealership operations and opportunities for growth within automotive service environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely move vehicles to and from service bays, customer areas, and designated parking locations, as assigned

  • Greet and assist customers during service drop-off and pick-up in a professional and courteous manner

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe service lot and work areas

  • Assist with vehicle preparation and coordination to support service operations

  • Support Service Greeters in welcoming guests to the service drive, as needed

  • Follow all dealership safety procedures and applicable Cal/OSHA guidelines

  • Perform additional job-related duties consistent with the role, as assigned by management


RequirementsDriving Assignments Only
  • Valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to safely operate automatic vehicles (manual transmission preferred but not required)

  • Driving duties are assigned based on role level and operational needs

General Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions associated with vehicle movement and lot duties
