Job description

Flex Drivers

Flex drivers are responsible for filling in for drivers who are out sick, on vacation, etc. Work consists of delivering aftermarket parts (loose package pieces i.e. hoods, bumpers, doors, etc.) to Honda dealerships. If on a night route the driver will be given the keys to unlock the gate/doors at dealership. They are responsible for unloading the trailer, scanning in the new load being delivered, picking up returns and locking the dealership back up before heading out. Drivers must be comfortable manoeuvring a tractor-trailer in tight corridors in car lots. This is an entry level position that will give you exposure to various routes within the operation with the opportunity to take over one of the routes as positions open up

Guaranteed weekly minimum on this account. Miles and stops vary based on route. Drivers can expect to earn $1,400 - $1,800

Newer trucks

Physical requirement is handling, positioning and securing delivery roller cages and lifting loose boxed parts on the floor and overhead in trailer attic on/off trailer in/out of dealership. Weight lift/handling range 40 -75 lbs.

A flex role will basically be a floater. In Davenport, we schedule them to fill routes to cover vacations and call offs. If we are running full staffed, we schedule them to ride along on heavier routes to assist with deliveries.
