Job Duties

The VA Department of Motor Vehicles is looking to hire 2 individuals for the Online Dealer MSL Program Specialist position. They are part-time wage position at the Headquarters building location.
The MSL Program Specialist is responsible for processing title work, payments, and lien-related documentation for businesses involved in towing, recovery, repair, and vehicle storage services. This position provides customer guidance, ensures compliance with DMV policies and regulatory requirements, and supports the timely resolution of complex lien transactions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, resolving discrepancies, maintaining records, and independently identifying and addressing processing issues to support efficient program operations.
Wage positions are limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, serves approximately 6.2 million licensed drivers and ID card holders with over 8.4 million registered vehicles. In addition,DMVserves a wide array of businesses, including dealers, fuels tax customers, rental companies, driving schools, other state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations.DMVoperates upon five fundamental core values: Trustworthiness, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, and Teamwork (TRAIT). Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of DMV policies related to the Online Dealer Program and title processing.
Strong organizational skills to manage high-volume transactions and maintain accurate records.
Excellent communication skills for responding to dealer inquiries and resolving issues.
Proficiency in data entry, recordkeeping, and DMV systems.
Ability to audit submissions for compliance and accuracy.

Additional Considerations

Experience working with dealer programs, title submissions, or compliance auditing.
Familiarity with document imaging and retention systems.
Strong problem-solving skills for addressing operational inefficiencies.
Experience with DMV operations or similar regulatory environments.
Background Check: Must pass a fingerprint-based background check.
Licensure: Must possess a valid driver's license with no less than 6 demerit points and no major convictions.
