Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) program. The DCTC Project Director will ensure the program aligns with university objectives and defense training requirements. This role involves supervising the DCTC Project Coordinator, managing day-to-day operations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to maximize the program's effectiveness and impact.
Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm 
Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is an 1890 public and land-grant, doctoral higher research (R2) institution and one of 17 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina System.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Engagement and Outreach provide strategic leadership for campus operations and facilitate connections between campus-engaged scholars and the broader community. The VPEO oversees the Extended Campus (Distance Education and Extended Learning), and Office of Career Services and Experiential Learning and connects the university's engagement, extended learning, and outreach into a cohesive and strategic program to serve its local, regional, national and global communities.
Minimum Requirements
A Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates must have at least five years of program management experience, ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields. Proven leadership experience, along with strong strategic planning, communication, and problem-solving skills, is essential. Proficiency in project management and financial tools, as well as experience in grant writing, management, and budgeting, are required. The role also requires demonstrated experience in leading complex programs, supervisory experience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Preferred candidates will possess a Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field. They must have at least seven years of program management experience (PMP preferred), ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields. Preferred candidates will also meet all minimum qualifications for the position.
