Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Senior Director, IT (Transportation & WFM) is a strategic technology leader responsible for driving the vision, roadmap, delivery, and operational excellence of systems supporting an end to end retail supply chain, specific to transportation, production planning and workforce management.
This role oversees a cross-functional team of IT managers, engineers, analysts, architects, and external partners to design, develop, deploy, and support solutions that improve end-to-end supply chain performance. The Senior Director serves as a trusted partner to Supply Chain, IT, and Executive Leadership to ensure technology solutions align with business goals and deliver measurable value.
The base salary range for this role is $158,300 - $297,950. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Development
• Define and help develop the multi-year technology strategy for retail supply chain capabilities including those support transportation, production planning, and workforce management.
• Partner with business executives to translate organizational goals into scalable, data-driven technology initiatives.
• Prioritize investments based on ROI, operational impact, and long term enterprise value
Team & Organizational Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across application development, engineering, and architecture.
• Build a culture focused on system stability, quality delivery, innovation, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
• Own team capacity planning, vendor relationships, performance management, and project budgets.
Solution Delivery & Program Management
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of supply chain initiatives, ensuring execution excellence ensuring on-time, on-budget execution with high quality.
• Establish and enforce SDLC, DevOps, and agile delivery frameworks.
• Manage large-scale implementations.
• Proven track record and ability to balance desired solution end-state within program constraints and with a pragmatic lens.
Operational Excellence & Support
• Ensure uptime, reliability, and performance of mission critical systems supporting supply chain operations.
• Oversee SLAs, incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous operational improvements.
• Maintain compliance with IT security, data governance, audit controls, and SOX requirements.
Retail Supply Chain Focus & Business Partnership
• Serve as a key IT technology partner for retail supply chain leadership.
• Facilitate alignment between business functions, IT teams, and external partners.
• Communicate technology impacts, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive committees.
• Translate business needs into scalable technology solutions that improve speed, efficiency, and customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 15 years of IT experience with at least 10 years leading managers and medium-to-large technology delivery organizations.
• Deep experience and demonstrated success delivering strategic, large-scale retail supply chain systems, including those supporting DC operations.
• Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills.
• Ability to work with teams that are geographically distributed and work across different time zones.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
