Job description


Maintenance Technician is responsible for equipment repair, uptime, cycle time improvements and Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) for all equipment and facilities.
  • Install, repair, maintain and improve all equipment and facilities.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production throughput, quality and equipment longevity.
  • Examine and test equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
  • Process Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders and close them out in the system.
  • Record operational data, such as pressure readings, length of stroke, feeds and speeds for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records.
  • Review Production System Efficiency and Quality System Efficiency workshops to support continuous improvement; propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions for all facilities.
  • Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements that pertain to the manufacturing environment and the maintenance function.
  • Facilitate equipment moves on the shop floor, including all plant utilities, communication and network wiring systems connections.
  • Give advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities, making sure manufacturing, maintainability and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met.
  • Set up requisitions for supplies, equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in the management of the inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime.
  • Keep most recent documentation related to maintenance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Technical School
Area of Study: Specialization in Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or similar.
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for this position.
3 Minimum Years of Experience with Maintenance / Engineering.
1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic prints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues - 12v dc, 120v, 240v single phase, and 480v 3 phase systems and distribution.
  • Experience operating basic shop tools.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude.
  • Proven ability to undertake tasks of substantial variety and/or complexity, which require an extensive knowledge of fabrication/processing techniques, tools, materials, machines, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in matrix organization.
  • Journeyman Electrical License.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining a wide variety of equipment including but not limited to - light assembly, plastic welding technology, injection molding machines, slush machines, foam in place equipment, robots.
  • Welding experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
  • Excellent Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic circuit troubleshooting.
