Job description

Dog Daycare Front Desk Team Member

Great With Customers? We Can Teach You the Dog-Daycare Part.

Maybe you've never worked at a dog daycare.

That's okay.

If you've worked a packed restaurant shift, handled a line of retail customers, worked a hotel desk, or been the person everyone relies on when things suddenly get busy, you may already have the skills we're looking for.

The Wags Club is an established cage-free dog daycare and boarding facility serving Santa Monica and West Los Angeles, and we're looking for a strong customer-service person to join our front desk team.

Pet-care experience is welcome.

Great people skills, good judgment, and the ability to keep your head when things get busy matter more.

Think of It as a Different Kind of Customer Service

Our clients bring their dogs to us for daycare, boarding, and grooming.

You'll get to know both.

You'll learn who comes in every morning, which dog belongs to which person, and what each client expects from us.

During your shift, you'll:

  • Greet clients and their dogs
  • Handle check-ins and check-outs
  • Answer phones and client questions
  • Manage reservations and client information
  • Process payments
  • Learn our daycare, boarding, and grooming services
  • Communicate feeding, medication, and special instructions to our care team
  • Keep the front desk organized
  • Assist with dog photos and occasional social media updates

Can You Handle the Rush?

Our busiest periods are morning drop-off and evening pickup.

There may be several clients waiting, dogs arriving and leaving, a phone ringing, and information that needs to reach another employee.

That's when we need someone who can smile, prioritize, keep things moving, and still get the details right.

If you've succeeded in retail, restaurants, hotels, hospitality, or another high-volume customer-service environment, you probably understand exactly what we mean.

We Especially Like People Who...

  • Remember regular customers
  • Notice details other people miss
  • Stay friendly even when they're busy
  • Figure things out instead of immediately saying, "I don't know"
  • See something that needs doing and take care of it
  • Don't need to be reminded repeatedly about routine responsibilities
  • Show up on time and can be counted on
  • Take pride in being good at their job

And obviously, you need to be comfortable around dogs — including big ones.

What We Offer

$19–$21 per hour, depending on experience

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance after probation

• Complimentary daycare or boarding for your dog

• Steady, year-round employment

• Opportunity to learn the professional pet-care business

• Opportunity for additional responsibility and growth

Ready for a Different Kind of Front Desk?

If you're already excellent at taking care of customers, we can teach you our business.

Bring us the work ethic, personality, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

We'll supply the dogs.

Apply through this listing with your resume.

We're actively interviewing and looking to hire quickly.

Qualified applicants will be contacted by phone or text.
