Black Bear Talent is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee weekend day shift operations within our clients manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a hands on leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and team development. The Production Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality production while partnering with cross functional teams to optimize processes and drive operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and support production employees while fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, and accountability
  • Monitor daily production schedules to meet output targets, deadlines, and customer requirements
  • Ensure proper staffing levels and coordinate workloads for optimal efficiency
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to support employee growth and development
  • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste
  • Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks while partnering with engineering and maintenance to resolve issues quickly
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators and drive actions to improve throughput, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
  • Support process improvements that increase quality and reduce operational costs
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and testing protocols for chiller production
  • Partner with quality teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and improve product reliability
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the production floor
  • Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Support new product introductions and production changes with proper training and implementation
  • Communicate production updates, challenges, and performance metrics to leadership
  • Drive accountability and teamwork across departments

Required Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred, or equivalent leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within HVAC, refrigeration, or related industries
  • Familiarity with chiller systems, refrigeration components, and manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and problem solving skills with a hands on management style
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies preferred
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work cross functionally
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and delivering high quality products
