Job description

The  part time Adjunct Faculty member in Mental Health Counseling is responsible for delivering high-quality, graduate-level instruction in a hybrid weekend format at Cambridge College Puerto Rico. The faculty member will design and facilitate engaging learning experiences that align with program outcomes, institutional standards, and best practices in mathematics education.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering bilingual instruction (Spanish as the primary teaching language and English for course design), utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System to manage course content and assessments, evaluating student performance, providing timely feedback, and supporting adult learners in a rigorous academic environment. The adjunct faculty member is expected to remain current in the discipline, contribute to academic excellence, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure curricular alignment and student success.

Job Type: Part-Time Adjunct

Course Delivery: At Cambridge College Puerto Rico (on campus), courses are offered in a dual-language format (Spanish and English).

Schedule & Location: Courses are delivered in a hybrid format on weekends, at pre-scheduled dates and times, on our San Patricio, Puerto Rico Campus.

Compensation: $500 - $1,200 per credit. Adjunct faculty pay rates vary, depending on the academic discipline and the course's credit load and level.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling or Counselor Education from a recognized and accredited U.S. higher education institution.

  • Four (4) or more years of experience teaching at the graduate level in Counseling (excluding Rehabilitation Counseling), or equivalent academic leadership experience in higher education.

  • Bilingual Proficiency: English is the primary language for course design, while Spanish is the main instructional language. Candidates must be fluent in both languages.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching with Learning Management Systems (LMS), preferably Canvas.

  • Evidence of current engagement in the field, including recent research, methodologies, and best practices in Counseling education.

  • A record of scholarly publications or professional contributions in the field is highly desirable.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

  • Ability to adhere to University policies and handle confidential information with discretion within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.

  • All new employees must complete required online trainings (FERPA, Anti-Harassment, etc.) within 15 days of employment.

  • General knowledge of the University's mission and the role this position plays in achieving institutional goals.

Note: Candidates with only a master’s degree will not be considered, as the Cambridge College Puerto Rico programs are at the doctoral/graduate level. Candidates must reside in Puerto Rico or be able to travel to campus for classes during alternate weekends.
