Job description

Summary: The Operations Supervisor will directly supervise employees in a manufacturing environment and is responsible for the communication and reinforcement of Orizon’s Mission, Vision, Goals, policies and procedures. Operations Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of designated work centers to meet production goals, quality and on time delivery. 

Responsibilities: 

* Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; reporting results of the processing flow on production summaries

* Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

* Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to machining problems.

* Review various management reports, monitor daily activity, and develop and use internal measures to track quality, productivity, efficiency, expenses, and other critical issues.  

* Ensure that the work of the department/work center is well integrated with the work of other departments and work centers such that the overall process serves customer needs and is accomplished in an efficient manner.

* Develop and support a team environment within the work center/department.  Involve employees in departmental planning, setting goals and deadlines.  Engage staff in continuous improvement of work processes, internal and external customer service, and overall product quality.

* Ensure all departmental employees know and follow the appropriate Quality Assurance Procedures.  Conduct periodic “self-audits” of the department to track compliance.  Notify the Quality Department if changes in procedures are needed, and work with them to develop and implement revised or new procedures.

* Monitor individual and departmental performance.  Provide ongoing performance feedback to individuals and the team.  Assist in associate development, including motivation, training and discipline. 

* Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures

* Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications:

* Must have 3 years of experience working in a supervisory role.

* Must have extensive technical knowledge in Numerical Control (NC).

* Understands basic, moderate and advanced machining applications.

* Must have excellent verbal, written and listening skills and have the ability to provide written and verbal instructions and present information clearly

* Must exhibit professionalism when communicating with superiors and subordinates.

* Must demonstrate the ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts 

* Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. 

* Must have the ability to work independently and within a team environment.

* Must be able to capture and assimilate information quickly.

* Must be able to pay attention to detail.

* Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions  

* Must be discreet and able to hold sensitive information confidential.
