About the role
As an IBM DataPower Gateway Consultant, you will make an impact by owning and enhancing the DataPower platform to ensure secure, stable, and optimized API and integration services across the enterprise. You will be a valued member of the EPS IPM team and work collaboratively with SRE teams, L2 support, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
- Own, maintain, and administer the IBM DataPower platform ensuring high availability and performance
- Provide expert technical guidance to enhance and optimize existing DataPower services and integrations
- Develop and execute Python-based automation scripts to streamline operations and platform-wide changes
- Troubleshoot outages and support incident resolution in collaboration with SRE and L2 teams
- Perform firmware upgrades, platform maintenance, and deploy code changes across environments
What you need to have to be considered
• Hands-on experience with IBM DataPower platform including multi-protocol gateway and web service proxy
• Strong expertise in integration technologies including APIs and web services
• Proven experience in automation and scripting (Python preferred)
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and working with SRE/support teams
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
These will help you stand out
• Experience with enterprise API gateways or integration platforms (APIC, Kong, Apigee)
• Familiarity with security remediation and vulnerability management in integration platforms
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments

Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $102,000 - 116,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
