  • Coordinate and lead the maintenance and modification of large-scale Database Management Systems (DBMS).
  • Test and implement database changes or entirely new database designs within production environments.
  • Write detailed logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access methods, and security requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to programmers and analysts to affect necessary changes to the DBMS.
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert to provide answers to complex database questions from across the organization.
  • Monitor database performance and health to proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks.
  • Analyze and organize data structures while applying new technology designs and programs to modernize legacy systems.

Required Experience/Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in database administration and information system design.
  • Proven expertise in analyzing and determining data relationships and attributes for large-scale systems.
  • Extensive experience in writing both logical and physical database descriptions.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and optimize complex database environments using industry-standard tools.

Desired Experience
We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have any of the following experience:
  • Experience with cloud-based database services such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Databricks.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases and big data processing frameworks like Apache Spark.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and tools like Jira and GitLab.
  • Experience with database automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for database provisioning.
  • Relevant certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
