Job description

Our Service Associate reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for providing welcoming, professional, and helpful experience to all members. Beyond greeting and directing members, guests, and staff upon entry, they serve as representatives of our gym's commitment to exceptional service. The Service Associate will handle member inquiries and requests, offer knowledgeable assistance, and ensure every individual feels valued and supported in their fitness journey. While these responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum, our Service Associate remains flexible and adaptive to the evolving needs of our gym, with duties subject to change under the discretion of management.ย 

Position Purpose: Be a great host, the members best source of information and create a fun atmosphere for members, guests and staff.ย 

Core Purpose: To create loyal, lifelong fans and exercise practitioners.ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Greet members and guests with a friendly and professional attitudeย 
  • Provide information about gym services, programs, and membership options.ย 
  • Address member inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.ย 
  • Check-in members and guests using the gym's management system.ย 
  • Oversee and manage check-in alerts and notifications.ย 
  • Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.ย 
  • Process payments for memberships, classes, and retail items.ย 
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of all gym members and staff.ย 
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for coolers, beverages, and bar items, as well as track sales performance.ย 
  • Support a clean and well-maintained facility by conducting gym walks, picking up trash, restocking supplies, and completing locker room and bathroom checks.

Qualifications:ย 

  • Previous experience in customer service or front desk role.ย 
  • Experience or strong interest in the fitness industry is a plusย 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer-focused attitude.ย 
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment.ย 
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with gym management software.ย 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.ย 
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.ย

Requirements:ย 

  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.ย 
  • Must attend all mandatory company trainings withing 30 days of employment.ย 
  • Follow all current company policies and standard operating procedures, which may be updated or changed over time.
  • Ability to work in a gym setting; move about club floors and rooms; communicate with employees, members, and the publicย 
  • Ability to bend routinely and repetitively to lift more than 40 lbs.ย 
  • Ability to access and operate company computer systems in order to prepare documents, enter data, and read reports from database or email system.ย
