Job description

SUMMARY:  Perform duties to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Assistant Principal and building staff. This is a 1.0 FTE, 10 month position.  Position start date:  July 2026.  
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Greet visitors, students, and staff, answer incoming telephone calls, provide appropriate information or take message and refer to appropriate staff.
  2. Locate missing or tardy students and escort them to class.
  3. Set up and maintain database of disciplinary actions for each student.
  4. Prepare and distribute invitations for special education student meetings, make copies of appropriate file information and coordinate schedule of all attendees.
  5. Prepare report of special education student meeting and file follow-up documentation.
  6. Set up and maintain database of locker assignments.
  7. Prepare correspondence, reports, documents and memos working from notes and direction.
  8. Assist in setting up and updating general student records in the student database.
  9. Assist with registration process: prepare files, health cards and physical cards, make information packets and supply lists and set up database files.
  10. Sort and distribute standardized testing material to staff, organize preparation of materials for collection and grading, and schedule make-up sessions as needed.
  11. Collect, type and post announcements.
  12. Provide general clerical assistance to administrative staff: word processing, report generation, copying, filing, distribute mail, faxing, or data entry.
  13. Contact outside services for office equipment repair as needed.
  14. Coordinate building usage by outside groups maintain calendar, provide District information packet and ensure proper documentation completed.
  15. Use personal computer and general office equipment. Demonstrate proficiency using the technology and computer-based programs provided by the District. Use these programs to effectively manage and organize files, communication, records and databases.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Office within a middle school
Rate of pay and Benefits: Salary and benefits will be determined by the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, which is currently under negotiation. To establish a baseline, the current salary schedule and benefits, as outlined in current contract IPCA Agreement 2022-2026 , are available for review.
