Job description

Overview
Perform modifications to the enterprise database as required to resolve problem reports and implement change requests, as well as maintain and optimize the database for the system, and utilize the priority and severity rankings as assigned by the Product Owner for sprint planning.
Responsibilities
• Recommend and implement changes to the AETCD data model/schema.
• Ensure that software design, database design, and interfaces allow for high levels of performance, maintainability, and reliability
• Define and document logical attributes and data inter-relationships for complex data structures.
• Design and maintain relational integrity, concurrency controls, index optimization, log clean-ups, and page files.
• Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures, triggers, functions, and indexes to ensure that they are optimized for fast execution speeds to the greatest extent possible.
• Monitor database activity and file usage. Recommend and/or implement tuning opportunities to improve system response and run times.
• Support upgrades/patches of the database management system software as necessary.
• Maintain the IA posture of the database system to include monitoring and resolution of applicable IAVAs. Monitor vendor security bulletins to obtain information on potential threats and install necessary security patches to ensure ongoing database security.
• Support RMF Activities for the system to include producing supporting documentation of IA compliance.
• Assist project managers and team leads in the development of project plans required for data management and database administration activities.
• Develop and implement a data migration solution to support future system migration.
Qualifications
Required:
• BS Degree in computer science AND 5 years' experience with Windows Server OS, T-SQL, SQL Server Database management, and performing technical documentation and/or operational system test and evaluation functions directly related to the major USAF Management Information System
• OR 10 years' experience in performing the foregoing functions, of which 2 years of recent experience were performing technical documentation and/or operational system test and evaluation functions.
• SECRET clearance is required.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
