Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced REDCap Application Administrator to provide operational and technical support for an existing REDCap environment hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The selected contractor will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, user support, vendor coordination, and integration of the REDCap application to ensure a secure, reliable, and highly available platform.

Tasks:

  • Administer and support the REDCap application hosted in AWS.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support, including troubleshooting application, infrastructure, and user issues, documentation and training.
  • Coordinate and implement REDCap software updates, patches, and version upgrades.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for REDCap-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and support REDCap External Modules.
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot REDCap API integrations with internal and external applications and automate data flows.
  • Maintain MySQL databases, perform queries and validation.
  • Support REDCap External Modules development and deployment using PHP on Linux/AWS environments including Apache/Nginx.
  • Implement and maintain OIDC integration, Active Directory/LDAP, and SSL/TLS certificates.
  • Coordinate with AWS infrastructure teams regarding servers, storage, networking, SSL/TLS certificates, security groups, backups, and system monitoring.
  • Monitor application performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup validation, and system recovery activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration documentation.
  • Coordinate issue resolution with vendors, developers, database administrators, security teams, and business users.
  • Participate in change management, release management, and production support activities.
  • Ensure compliance with State security standards, applicable data privacy requirements, HIPAA compliance, and proper audit logging.
  • Develop automation scripts for reporting, and data validation (PHP and SQL).
  • Maintain a secure, stable, and available REDCap environment.
  • Complete REDCap upgrades and patches according to vendor recommendations.
  • Resolve production issues within established service levels.
  • Support user onboarding, access management, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
  • Ensure successful operation of REDCap integrations and APIs.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and operational documentation to State staff.

Skills Required:
  • Experience supporting applications hosted on AWS
  • Experience in a REDCap Environment
  • 5-6 years - Experience with MySQL database management.
  • 5-6 years - Experience with PHP application environments and Microservices Development with configuration and troubleshooting.
  • 5-6 years - Experience with OIDC/SAML integration.
  • Experience coordinating software upgrades and vendor support.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (please document on resume)
 Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • 5+ years - Experience supporting enterprise web applications.
  • Experience using AWS Cloud services (EC2, S3, VPC, security groups).
  • Experience with REDCap API integration.
  • Experience with Apache or Nginx web servers.
  • Experience with SSL/TLS certificate management and HIPAA compliance.
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting REST APIs.
  • Experience managing application security, authentication, and user access.
  • Experience supporting REDCap in a public health, healthcare, higher education, or research environment.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner, SysOps Administrator, or Solutions Architect certification.
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Experience using ServiceNow or another enterprise ticketing system.
  • Experience with Devops or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, security, and data privacy best practices
  • Experience supporting API integrations with enterprise applications
  • Experience with Python scripting for automation.
  • Experience with SSIS/ SQL Server agent.
  • Experience with Twilio / SMS survey gateway experience.
