Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Wiring Technician - Switchgear to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you will wire electrical components for switchgear systems based on schematics and engineering drawings. Your work will ensure reliable power solutions that support our global customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Wiring & Assembly: Install and connect wiring for electrical switchgear components based on detailed schematics, diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Component Installation: Mount relays, circuit breakers, switches, busbars, and other electrical hardware into enclosures using hand and power tools.
  • Routing & Terminating: Route, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables accurately and efficiently using proper techniques and tools.
  • Quality Control: Conduct self-inspections of wiring to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and code standards.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Assist in functional testing of wiring systems and troubleshoot issues such as miswires or component malfunctions.
  • Documentation: Follow work instructions and document completed wiring tasks according to production requirements.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Work safely around electrical components and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.

What You Bring
  • Previous experience in electrical wiring, panel building, or switchgear assembly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Proficient in using wire strippers, crimpers, multimeters, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety standards (OSHA, NEC).
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment.

Working Conditions
  • This position may require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around energized components with appropriate PPE.
  • May involve repetitive motion, bending, and use of fine motor skills for wire routing and terminations.
  • Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as needed.
