Job Description

Job Requirements:
At least 3 years of experience in web-based visualization development
Ability and strong interest in communication through creative visualizations to audiences with varying degrees of technical sophistication
Experience in developing with JavaScript visualization libraries as well as Tableau or other data visualization platforms to create interactive data visualizations and exploration capabilities for end users is a must
Python programming experience is a plus

ย Strong communication and presentation skills and a willingness to collaborate with others is a must
Experience or demonstrated interest in Hadoop and other big data technologies is a plus
Excel VBA and Excel plugin development a plus
Familiarity with Equity markets or financial industry is a plus

Qualifications

Aperio Platform Engineers design and build solutions for processing big and unstructured data sets at Point72. Our team works closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to understand the potential business value of data sets and ultimately build data processing pipelines around those data sources. The platform engineer for visualization will have a focus on automating and enhancing existing data exploration and visualization capabilities for our end users while building core frameworks that allow our modeling team to deliver new analysis across a growing number of data sources to end users in an agile fashion.
Build and support visualization and exploration capabilities around our big data sets
Work in an Agile fashion with business users and data scientists to discover the potential business value of new and existing data sources and visualize those discoveries into Aperio products
Maintain knowledge of new technology developments and conduct proof of concepts to evaluate new technologies in the area of data visualization and exploration
Create standards for and maintain a reporting focused data warehouse
Promote best practices for big data visualization at the firm
