Job description

Job Title: Virtualization Engineer Location: Springfield, VA Required Security Clearance: Top Secret Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain virtualization solutions utilizing VMWare, NetAPP Storage, and Microsoft Windows Active Directory for hosting PKI systems.
  • Design, implement, and support VMware vSphere, vCenters, and Microsoft Active Directory Forests with JIT administration to support multiple PKI systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot NetApp Storage – ONTAP, perform firmware and OS upgrades, and utilize storage management tools like OnCommand Unified Manager and Performance Manager.
  • Provision virtual machines, patches, and hardware infrastructure updates.
  • Support operational engineering tasks, including virtualization, networking, storage infrastructures, and off-site data replication.
  • Create and update system documentation, diagrams, and SOPs as needed.
  • Provide technical support to end users, operations, and management teams.
  • Research, analyze, and develop strategies to meet Zero Trust Architecture requirements, including enforcing least-privilege access and continuous authentication.
  • Deploy and administer storage and virtualization solutions supporting enterprise-level PKI systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience or Master’s with 7 years, or equivalent professional education/training and work experience.
  • Strong experience with Windows Active Directory deployment, management, and administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of VMware and vSphere design, deployment, and integration.
  • Proficiency with NetApp Storage concepts, management tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with storage protocols including CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, and Fiber Channel networks.
  • Hands-on experience with NetApp CDOT and 7-Mode, firmware and OS upgrades, and storage performance troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with additional infrastructure components such as Cisco UCS, IBM Blade Center, System X, and VMWare environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience in infrastructure design, deployment, and disaster recovery testing.
  • Ability to work proactively within a team environment with a flexible and innovative approach.
