Job Title: Partnership & Commercial Strategy Intern

Department: Partner Development

Supervisor: Sr. Director, Partnership & Commercial Strategy

Job Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Type: Part-Time, 29 Hours per Week (September - December)


Summary:

The mission of the Boston Celtics internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization. Through observation and practical experience, interns learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, the Boston Celtics strive to successfully prepare their interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.


Responsibilities:

  • Research and discover new opportunities for the partnership team by identifying best practices, performing category analysis, identifying innovative new assets, and tracking trends across the sports/entertainment industry.
  • Support the development of partnership proposals and presentations for potential and existing partners.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for partnership activations and promotions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and data to inform partnership strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing partnerships, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and revenue driving strategies that enhance the Celtics merchandising and youth basketball platforms.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and performance metrics for partnership initiatives.


Qualifications:


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Passion for sports and understanding of the sports industry, particularly basketball
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team



Requirements:


  • Must be a junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate student
  • Academic Credit
  • Ability to work scheduled home games and events

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this/these range(s) will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market and industry considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure, performance, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employeeโ€™s/applicantโ€™s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate Range: $15.00
