What's the role?

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SAP MDG Master Data Steward to join our team. This role combines expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) with the responsibilities of a Data Steward, focusing on managing and maintaining the integrity of master data while enforcing data governance policies. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of business needs, processes, and corresponding data, contributing to the digital transformation and data excellence within the organization.

Master Data Management:

  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and deletion of master data records in
    SAP MDG.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data governance policies and procedures.

Data Quality and Analysis:

  • Conduct regular audits and data quality assessments to identify and resolve
    data discrepancies.

  • Monitor and manage defined data quality KPIs within the scope of
    responsibility.

Data Stewardship:

  • Act as the contact person for any data-related questions and assist employees in understanding data.

  • Document and maintain all catalogue-relevant elements, including business
    descriptions, governance roles, data lineage, data quality, and data policies.

Data Governance:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define local data standards and
    governance processes, ensuring compliance with established policies.

  • Educate local data users on best practices for data creation and management
    to uphold business requirements.

  • Actively supervise data entry processes to enforce data integrity and quality,
    ensuring that all data records meet organizational standards.

  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with CSOPs/SOPs, enforcing processes at every stage of the data lifecycle.

Collaboration and Access Management:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and
    operations, to gather requirements and ensure alignment on master data
    initiatives.

  • Grant data access permissions and ensure that the right people have access to the required data.

Do you qualify?

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in master data management, preferably within an SAP environment.

  • Experience with SAP MDG and data stewardship is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Understanding of business areas underlying owned data objects.

  • Effective communicator and initial point of contact for data-related questions.

  • Strong team player and collaborator.

  • Affinity for setting up, maintaining, and sharing documentation for data asset management.

  • Good understanding of data cataloguing and quality.

  • Knowledge of relevant data standards and formats.

  • Ability to evaluate data assets regarding conformance with data policies and processing conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.

  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts and data quality tools.

  • Certification in SAP MDG or related fields is a plus.

The annual pay range for this position is $94,200 - $117,800.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
