AMD’s Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with AIdriven graphics processors. Our mission is to design worldclass products that advance modern computing and serve as the foundation for enterprise data centers, Artificial Intelligence (AI), HighPerformance Computing (HPC), and embedded systems.

THE ROLE: 

In this highvisibility role, you will serve as the overall program leader for key engineering initiatives, guiding them from concept through execution. You will partner closely with engineering and business stakeholders to ensure program and product objectives are met across development, validation, and delivery phases.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate brings strong technical program management expertise, several years of direct validation experience, and a proven track record of delivering complex software and hardware programs. You will have deep familiarity with validation processes, schedules, and dependencies, and will drive business planning activities that support growth and align with overall business strategy.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Define, plan, and drive projects and program plans based on guidance from management and senior technical leaders
  • Scope and evaluate the technical feasibility of new products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with software and hardware architects, validation teams, technical leads, and engineers
  • Lead endtoend program execution, including development and validation phases, ensuring alignment across hardware, firmware, software, and driver teams
  • Develop and manage integrated program schedules that account for drivers, software stack components, validation milestones, and hardware/firmware dependencies
  • Negotiate and establish staffing plans—including validation resources—to support program timelines
  • Build, maintain, and execute comprehensive program plans with a strong focus on execution excellence
  • Establish and manage formal program management artifacts, including plans of record, statements of work, schedules, budgets, scope definitions, and performance and quality KPIs
  • Ensure excellence in resource planning across development and validation teams
  • Identify program and validation risks, define mitigation and prevention strategies, and proactively address issues to reduce engineering cost and schedule impact
  • Work effectively with senior executives and address requirements from Engineering, Product Management, Validation, and Customer Engineering organizations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Several years of handson experience working with hardware and/or software validation teams, including test planning, execution, and readiness reviews
  • Strong understanding of requirements management, documentation management, defect tracking, and validation signoff processes
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical and validation concepts and translate discussions and meeting minutes into clear, actionable plans
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and validation topics to diverse stakeholders
  • Highly analytical, selfmotivated, organized, detailoriented, and resultsdriven
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and communicate progress regularly
  • Experience working in highpressure environments with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Engineering background strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, and Excel
  • Experience working in Agile development environments

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Formal project management training; PMP certification preferred
