POSITION SUMMARY:
COTA's Lead Data Analyst will support the design and development of data integrations and reporting to enhance the accuracy and quality of decision making. Key functions include conducting in-depth data analysis, collaborating with database developers to enhance data collection and storage procedures, and developing and maintaining data integrations and ETL flows.
Performs duties that advance COTA's Strategic Plan and reflect the organization's core values of safety, empowerment, accountability, teamwork, and service, and support the mission of Moving Every Life Forward.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Leads analyses from requirements gathering or problem statement through deployment or presentation, fully understanding business processes and objectives, underlying data, and relevant factors;
  • Independently manages analytics projects and provides regular and clear updates; and,
  • Synthesizes complex analyses into clear narratives to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
  • Support the design and implementation of integration flows and enhancements, including APIs and/or file-based integrations.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify opportunities and build solutions to optimize data processing, improve data quality, identify issues, and reduce failures.
  • Gather data from primary or secondary data sources to identify and interpret trends.
  • Create robust (advanced and/or statistical) analysis and communicate findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs.
  • Document processes and maintain data records.
  • Adhere to best practices in data analysis and collection.
  • Keep abreast of developments and trends in data quality analysis.
  • Support Quality Assurance/Quality Control to ensure a quality level that meets COTA's requirements; monitors data systems to ensure data quality.
  • Collaborate with other business analysts and project team members across the department and on other projects to share knowledge and experience that can be leveraged for cross-project purposes or for improvement in the data quality process in general.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; and
  • Regular, predictable and punctual attendance required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related field and minimum of four (4) years of experience in data analysis. An advanced degree in data science, statistics, mathematics or a related field is strongly preferred.
