Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.
As an IT Architect, you will be responsible for designing, administering, and optimizing enterprise data platforms that support analytics and business operations across Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD). You will lead data architecture and integration efforts, ensuring data is securely connected, governed, and accessible across enterprise systems. Working closely with business partners, IT teams, and analytics stakeholders, you will translate business needs into scalable technology solutions, support cloud and database technologies, and drive best practices for platform performance, security, and reliability.
Additional Information:
  • This role is located in Morton IL and does not offer relocation.
  • This role is 1st shift, Monday - Friday.
  • This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as the technical architect and administrator for the PSLD Data Analytics Platform, ensuring platform reliability, scalability, and performance.

  • Design, develop, and maintain logical technical architectures to support enterprise-wide data integration and analytics solutions.

  • Lead the administration and optimization of large-scale data platforms, including Snowflake and other enterprise database technologies.

  • Develop secure data integration strategies and ensure adherence to data governance, authorization, and cybersecurity best practices.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD), Integrated Components Division (ICD), and business functions to provide end-to-end data analytics and application support.

  • Design and implement integrations between enterprise systems, including SAP, PRISM, cloud solutions, and analytics platforms.

  • Manage and optimize database performance, data pipelines, and data availability across multiple technology stacks.

  • Evaluate, onboard, and implement new analytics, reporting, and data management tools to support evolving business needs.

  • Administer and support cloud-based data and integration technologies, including Azure services, Kubernetes, Key Vault, and IoT solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership for data platform operations, architecture standards, and system scalability initiatives.

  • Support source control, deployment, and solution management through Azure DevOps and GitHub repositories.

  • Monitor data quality, platform health, and system performance using enterprise monitoring and governance tools.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and analytics partners to deliver data solutions that support decision-making across the organization.

  • Administer and support Linux and Windows server environments supporting analytics and data management applications.

  • Drive continuous improvement of data architecture, integration processes, security controls, and platform capabilities.

  • Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

  • Application Modernization: Knowledge of the concepts, processes and technologies of application modernization; ability to design, develop and deploy modernized applications in various business scenarios.

  • Architecture Modeling: Knowledge of Architecture Modeling; ability to develop and modify enterprise architecture through conceptual, logical and physical approaches.

  • Business Assessment: Knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices and deliverables for assessing and documenting business opportunities; ability to assess the benefits, risks, and success factors of potential applications.

  • System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

  • Snowflake SnowPro certification or advanced Snowflake administration experience.
  • Experience with enterprise databases, cloud platforms, and secure data integrations.
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar Logical Technical Architecture (LTA), SAP, or Dataiku.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
  • Broad technical knowledge across analytics, data, and integration platforms.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills in ambiguous environments.
  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business teams.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
