Main Duties & Responsibilities
The Master Data Manager will lead TriMas enterprise master datamanagement (MDM) program, ensuring master data is governed, standardized,accurate, and fit for use across ERP and connected business systems. This rolepartners with functional leaders and data owners to define data standards, stewardcritical master data domains (e.g., customer, supplier, material/product,pricing, finance), and drive ongoing data quality improvement to supportbusiness performance, reporting, and ERP process integrity.
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:
Master DataGovernance:
- Define and maintain master data policies, standards, and ownership (RACI) across key domains to enable consistent use across ERP and downstream systems.
- Establish and monitor master data quality KPIs (completeness, accuracy, timeliness, duplication) and lead remediation plans with business data owners.
MDM Strategy& Roadmap:
- Develop and execute the enterprise master data roadmap aligned to ERP strategy, business priorities, and acquisition integration needs.
- Lead standardization of master data definitions, hierarchies, naming conventions, and reference data to support reporting, planning, and operational execution.
BusinessPartnership & Data Stewardship:
- Partner with functional leaders (Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, Quality) to establish data stewardship routines, issue escalation paths, and decision forums.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops to resolve data definition conflicts, drive adoption of standards, and support ERP process harmonization.
Master DataOperations & Change Control:
- Own end-to-end master data processes (create/change/inactivate) including request intake, validation, approval workflow, and auditability across master data domains.
- Implement controls to prevent duplicates and errors (e.g., validation rules, de-duplication routines, reference data governance) and coordinate periodic cleansing activities.
Tools,Technology & Integration:
- Partner with ERP and integration teams to define master data requirements, workflows, and controls within ERP and supporting platforms (MDM tools, ETL/integration, reporting).
- Define data quality monitoring and exception reporting; ensure master data changes are communicated and synchronized across downstream systems and analytics.
Training,Documentation & Enablement:
- Develop and deliver training for data stewards and business users on master data standards, request processes, and ERP impacts.
- Maintain a master data dictionary/glossary andSOPs for key domains, including required attributes, hierarchies, and approvalrules.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in master data management, data governance, ERP master data, or related disciplines, including leadership of cross-functional initiatives.
- Hands-on experience designing and operating master data processes (create/change controls, stewardship, data quality monitoring) within an ERP environment.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and practical implementation (policies, standards, stewardship, issue management, and audit readiness).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into durable data standards and processes.
- Experience with ERP platforms (e.g., Infor SyteLine, Infor LN, SAP, Oracle) and familiarity with MDM/data tooling (e.g., Infor ION, data lakes, ETL/integration, data profiling/quality tools) preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across corporate, segment, and site teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
