Position Overview
FI Consulting is seeking a Data/Integration Engineer to support a federal agency program modernization effort. This role will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and system integrations that support financial operations, reporting, reconciliation, and process automation.
The ideal candidate has 6 or more years of experience integrating enterprise systems, building scalable data solutions, and supporting financial or operational data environments.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated data pipelines and system interfaces.
  • Integrate financial, operational, and business systems to support data movement and reconciliation processes.
  • Develop and support ETL processes, APIs, and database integrations.
  • Build solutions that improve data quality, availability, and accuracy.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data models, and integration documentation.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to define requirements and implement solutions.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and optimize system performance.
  • Support automated financial reconciliations and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to cloud-based and modern data architecture initiatives.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to security, governance, and data management best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, ETL development, or database administration.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), and the ability to evaluate and apply new technologies to solve business problems.
  • Strong SQL development experience.
  • Experience working with APIs, data integration platforms, and relational databases.
  • Experience with ETL tools and automated data processing solutions.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be available to work onsite in Washington, DC upon project start.

  • Experience supporting federal government clients.
