Are you a problem solver with a passion for automation and control systems? We’re looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team in Evansville, IN! In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing control systems for a wide range of exciting projects, including custom electromechanical systems, control panels, robotics, vision systems, drives, and more.

As a Controls Engineer, you’ll collaborate with a skilled team of technicians, engineers, and project managers to take projects from concept through installation. This role offers a mix of office, shop, and fieldwork, with opportunities to travel to customer sites, occasionally requiring overnight stays.

To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in industrial controls, computers, and networking. A hands-on mindset and the ability to tackle both technical challenges and field tasks are essential. Flexibility is key, as the role may involve travel, overtime, and adjusting your schedule to meet project needs.


  • Design, develop, test, and support controls systems which include pneumatics, servos, VFD’s, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons and robotic integration
  • Perform SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) development and design systems
  • Perform PLC and HMI programming (ex. RS Logix 500/5000, Studio 5000, etc.), commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting on machines, production lines, conveyor systems, etc.
  • Support and pursue additional business opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Integrate various instrumentation such as pressure sensors, load cells, flow meters, etc.
  • Work safely in proximity to a variety of voltages such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, single phase and 3-phase
  • Interpret electrical drawings and documentation for custom machines, systems, and products
  • Configure controls components such as VFDs, servo drives, machine vision systems, robot controllers, field IO racks, etc.

Working Conditions

  • Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or tools / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
  • Sit, talk, listen, observe, read, write, and type
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Perform work on site in industrial locations with occasional underground and/or at heights

  • 6+ years’ relevant programming and automation/controls work experience preferred
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics and Robotics preferred 
  • Preference given to applicants with relevant PLC/Programming training or certifications
  • Experience with Rockwell PLC and HMI programming is required. Mitsubishi, Omron, and Toyopuc PLC experience is a plus. 
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and program SCADA, PLC, and HMI
  • Valid driver’s license required
