About Smart Infrastructure - Electrification and Automation:
The Electrification and Automation (EA) Business Unit offers the full range of energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets and through all sales channels. We provide reliable power distribution grids of today while investing into our Future Grids portfolio and applications to create the power distribution grid of the future. Our comprehensive portfolio meets the growing technical requirements of today's and tomorrow's power grid!
The EA Business Unit in Wendell, North Carolina, which is its U.S. headquarters, focuses on electric-vehicle charging, photovoltaic inverters, medium-voltage power distribution equipment including packaging and services, and solutions, including automation. Additionally, assembly of electric-vehicle chargers, low-voltage motor control centers, and retrofit and replacement circuit breakers occurs at the facility.
Siemens is seeking a highly skilled Material Master Data Governance Lead to oversee Material Master Data processes within SAP, with a strong emphasis on data governance, quality, compliance, access controls, and documentation management. This role is critical to ensuring that material master data creation, maintenance, extensions, migrations, and lifecycle management activities are executed with the highest level of accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will serve as a key steward of enterprise material data, driving governance standards, supporting audit readiness, overseeing SecurePro access governance activities, and ensuring all required DCC/PMD documentation is maintained in accordance with Siemens policies and business requirements. As a Material Master Data Governance Lead, you will:
Governance Leadership
  • Implement, maintain, and enforce material master data governance standards, policies, and procedures across SAP systems.
  • Drive compliance with Siemens data governance requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal controls.
  • Establish governance metrics and monitor adherence to data quality and compliance standards.

Material Master Data Management
  • Lead material master creation, extensions, changes, and migration activities while ensuring compliance with established governance processes.
  • Validate material master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Support material lifecycle management activities and drive continuous process improvements.

Data Quality & Compliance
  • Monitor and maintain high levels of data integrity across SAP environments.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues while implementing preventive measures to reduce recurring errors.
  • Develop and execute data quality reviews, audits, and remediation plans.

SecurePro Access Governance
  • Administer and oversee SAP material master access governance processes utilizing SecurePro.
  • Support user access reviews, segregation of duties (SoD) compliance activities, role validations, and audit requirements.

Documentation & DCC/PMD Management
  • Ensure all material master records are supported by complete and accurate DCC and PMD documentation.
  • Review, validate, and maintain documentation packages associated with material creation, extensions, changes, and governance approvals.
  • Support document control processes to ensure traceability, audit readiness, and compliance with Siemens documentation standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and governance documentation.

Basic Qualifications
  • Extensive experience managing SAP Material Master Data processes, including creation, maintenance, extensions, and migrations.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, master data management practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing and enforcing governance controls within SAP environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data quality management, validation techniques, and issue resolution.
  • Experience supporting audit activities and maintaining compliance-related documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Data Management, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Siemens-specific SAP processes, governance standards, and workflows.
  • Experience utilizing SecurePro or similar SAP access governance tools for user access reviews, role management, and compliance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with DCC and PMD documentation processes and requirements.
  • Experience supporting material master data governance in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Experience with SAP scripting software - i.e. Winshuttle
  • Previous Siemens experience strongly preferred.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
