Overview
The Director, Enterprise Data Architecture is a senior leader within Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) responsible for advancing the enterprise data architecture vision, standards, and execution strategy across the Bank.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Data, this leader serves as a trusted strategic partner and delegate, driving architecture decisions that enable scalable, trusted, governed, and business-aligned data capabilities across all major banking segments.
This role provides leadership across enterprise data architecture, information architecture, data modeling, data products, and data platform adoption while ensuring architectural consistency across the Nexus ecosystem and broader enterprise data landscape.
The Director is accountable for scaling enterprise data capabilities to support growing business demand, regulatory expectations, risk and compliance requirements, and emerging analytics and AI initiatives across the Bank.
The ideal candidate combines strong data architecture expertise, organizational leadership, banking domain knowledge, and executive influence to help shape the future of Enterprise Data & Analytics.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Strategy - Partners with senior leaders to identify and determine areas of innovation, process improvement and data management strategies that develop and enhance the Bank's capabilities. Serves as an expert data resource to other management, associates, and project teams. Maintains a strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies or trends impacting the financial service industry.
Managerial Functions - Manages and guides direct reports ensuring accuracy of work, process improvements and efficiencies. Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes team achievements by providing professional development.
Data Enhancement - Provides strategic direction and oversight to projects and process improvements that enhance the quality, management, and storage of enterprise data. Directs a team of lower-level management and associates that facilitate initiatives and data management and improve profiling, exception reporting, data analysis, and issue resolution. Delegates work tasks and makes adjustments as needed to ensure the appropriate data governance.
Business Support - Creates, implements, and ensures execution of data policies and procedures to be used both within the department and enterprise-wide. Facilitates feedback from leaders to identify potential initiatives and areas of improvement within data management. Drives data validation and reporting to ensure the quality and completeness of data prior to business use. Directs the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Makes modifications as necessary to Enterprise Data Warehouse processes to enhance efficiencies.
Position Specific Skills:
Understanding of data warehousing and transformation as well as extract, transform, and load processes
Knowledge of Cognos and SAS
Knowledge of technologies and trends impacting the financial service and insurance industry
Qualifications:
Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 10 years' experience OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 14 years' experience in Risk Management including Enterprise Data Warehouse
