Job Opportunity

The City of Waco Seeks:

A customer-centered individual with experience in data entry, record keeping, document processing, transcribing, and other office duties. If you are detail-oriented, organized, enjoy working with the public, and can maintain strict confidentiality, this position may be for you. Apply now!

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One year of customer service and clerical experience OR
  • Minimum of 15 college credit hours AND
  • Volunteer work, internships, campus involvement, or leadership in school, civic, or service organizations.
  • Must complete Police Department Background Packet

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
  • National/Texas Crime Information Centers (NCIC/TCIC) within six months from date of hire (this required training is provided in-house).
  • Must successfully complete any additional background checks required for the position, which may include a CJIS background check, federal background check, or other applicable screenings (e.g., FAA).

Position Description

  • Performs basic clerical duties in accordance with WPD policy and procedures, including data entry, record keeping and preparing and processing documents; duties may vary according to job assignment.
  • Transcribes and processes Officer reports, processes information requests and maintains files and database records; assists customers with payments, reports, applications, and technical documents.
  • Processes a variety of public records and requests; answers inquiries and explains policies and procedures; provides information and assistance within scope of authority.
  • Operates a City vehicle to transport property to and from various locations throughout the county, travel to audit and training sites, and transport collected materials to designated agencies or facilities as part of authorized programs or initiatives.
