Job description

Description
Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients, vendors, and other visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Performs point of service duties such as data entry, medical coding, coordination of benefits and cash drawer maintenance. Responsible for maintaining accurate patient demographic records as well as insurance and benefit information. May operate a switchboard to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
Requires a high school diploma and medical assistant certification, with 1 to 3 years of experience in a related field. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
