About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will work in a fast-paced clinical setting supporting the medical team with patient intakes and inquiries, records maintenance and basic patient screenings. In addition to basic Medical Office Administration duties, the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will assist with injections, blood draws, and assisting a NP or PA in patient procedures.Β 

This is a full-time 10 hour sifts 7:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Saturday 3 weeks on/ 3 weeks off rotation

Key responsibilities
  • Make appointments for the personnel attending the clinicΒ 
  • Register personnel visiting the facility for consultationΒ 
  • Prepare required filesΒ 
  • Manage and control the completion and filing of medical recordsΒ 
  • Prepared correspondence and reportsΒ 
  • Maintain training recordsΒ 
  • Verifies patient information, medical histories by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and confirming purpose of visit; Updates patients' filesΒ 
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; drug & alcohol screening, pulmonary function test, respirator fit test; and reporting patient history summary.Β 
  • Assist in injury careΒ 
  • Assist practitioners during medical examinationsΒ 
  • Explain medical testing to patientsΒ 
  • Takes patient vitalsΒ 
  • Performs phlebotomy service and gives injections. Β 
  • Handle any necessary injections (will be trained)Β 
  • Conduct EKG'sΒ 
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.Β 
  • Sterilize medical instruments and equipmentΒ

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (an asset)
