The Warehouse Shipping Supervisor is responsible for planning , guiding , and directing staff members in an efficient and timely manner to meet customer demands, expectations, deadline, and all administrative duties. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high level of shipping  productivity and efficiency
  • Directs and oversees the Internet shipping process of picking, sorting, packing, and processing to meet customer deadlines
  • Maintains a staffing level to accomplish the receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of receiving associates
  • Ensures the shipping associates are capable of safely operate material handling equipment to move materials 
  • Develops crew leaders to effectively oversee the daily routines of their assigned crew members.
  • Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish shipping  mission in a safe, effective manner.
  • Monitors the loading of all merchandise into the shipping department; ensures merchandise are staged for speedy shipping  process, ensures shipping reports accurately report merchandise ready to ship.
  • Ensure completeness and acceptable condition of shipments.
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and shipping  reports.
  • Monitors the flow of paperwork from inventory controls to shipping for timely data entry.
  • Monitors and measures shipping  performance for accuracy of locater and shipping reporting.
  • Monitor X-carrier, DST and emails frequently to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Staff Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of shipping agents 
  • Counsels, records and discipline shipping associates as necessary.

Supervise Operations: 

  • Maintain a meticulous standard for cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the shipping department.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.  Ensure that safety and compliance practices meet DOT and OSHA standards
  • Maintain 5S warehouse principles are administered and followed on a routine basis
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to shipping and work areas.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work Weekends!
  • 2-3 years hands on supervisory experience required
  • 1 year shipping/receiving experience
  • Supervisory experience, team building.
  • Experience with WMS/ inventory management system and RF technology.
  • Must possess ability to multi-task and adjust to dynamic order flow fluctuations as needed
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify areas drifting behind in production and proactively act to get back on track
  • Experience in tracking metrics, including key performance indicators such as team member productivity.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts preferred
  • Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess outstanding customer relations skills
  • Strong skills and experience in team/personnel management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated drive to achieve resultsAbility (with or without reasonable accommodation) to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, stand/ walk for up to 10 hours, able to squat, bend and reach, able to climb and descend stairs safely (applies to locations with stairs)
  • Ability to work powered equipment (forklift, cherry picker etc)
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety
