Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Data Coordinator II monitors data collection and its adherence to protocols and is responsible for the collection, coordination, processing, and quality control of clinical trial data.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the research team and providers to collect, abstract, review, and code complex clinical data and information from multiple sources, including medical records, research records, and other study-related documentation for research subjects.
  • Enter, and maintain study data within various study-specific electronic data capture systems in accordance with protocol requirements and study timelines.
  • Resolve and respond to data queries accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing available source documentation and study resources to ensure data completeness and quality.
  • Maintain study databases and perform routine data review activities to support data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of assigned study protocols and research workflows to support accurate data collection and documentation activities.
  • Assist with the development and revision of study-specific or program data acquisition forms, worksheets, and related tracking tools.
  • Partner with research coordinators and sponsor representatives to review case report forms and reconcile data against source documentation, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed.
  • Request, obtain, and organize medical records and supporting documentation from outside medical facilities to support study requirements.
  • Track and maintain research subject schedules based on complex protocol-specific requirements, coordinating with clinic support services and research team members to help ensure required research assessments are completed within designated timeframes.
  • Communicate with research subjects, study team members, and sponsor contacts as needed to obtain, clarify, and submit required study data and assist with the resolution of study-specific queries.
  • Maintain study documentation and records in accordance with protocol, sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS, RRA (Registered Records Administrator), ART (Accredited Records Technician), or two year degree in the medical field.
  • Two years of experience in medical records, cancer registry, or related field.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with databases.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Medical terminology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in oncology research and with medical terminology or electronic medical record preferred. 
  • CCRP or CCRC accreditation preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize multiple projects. 
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, research subjects, and study sponsor representatives. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, under supervision, and be a team player. 
  • Ability to adapt and respond appropriately to competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.01 to $38.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
