Summary

The Research Data Coordinator II (RDC II) autonomously reviews and synthesize information from medical records (clinic notes, pathology reports, radiology reports, patient questionnaires, etc.) to extract industry, cooperative, and investigator-initiated trial data as specified by assigned research protocols. The position is responsible for protocol specific data requirements for multiple research projects, while ensuring data requirements are in alignment with good clinical practice according to Federal regulations. The role will routinely handle complex tasks. It will determine methods and procedures related to data requirements, query resolution and data capture. The role collaborates with the study coordinator and monitors regarding the protocol requirements.This is a fully proficient role performing all RDC core support and additional responsibilities including higher patient volume and/or higher trial complexity. Workload is more complex and comprehensive than lower level research data coordinators. The position assists less-experienced team members.Presents in department meetings as appropriate. This position has the opportunity for career growth within the Research Data Coordinator career path.

Minimum Experience Required
High School Diploma/GED with three (3) three years of data management required.
*In lieu of experience, an AA/AS degree plus one (1) year of clinical or research data management is acceptable.

Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required
Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with staff and other health care professionals. Must have ability to prioritize and pace one's-self when working under the pressure of deadlines and work volume. Successfully demonstrates competency by
meeting established competency guideline/check list annually. Experienced in using automated data processing techniques, word processing software, experience using data base software programs required. Must be able to interpret all components of the medical record. Must be able to maintain confidentiality requirements as well as security of subject data. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed. Must be comfortable talking to physicians and other health care professionals. In this position, the role will work independently under limited supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. The Manager/Supervisor or Principal Investigator will provide more detailed instructions on new complex assignments where there is limited prior depth, or breadth of knowledge or working experience.


Preferred Experience
Previous experience taking place in the oncology research setting.


Preferred Skills/Specialized Training
Through knowledge of EMR systems (e.g. Powerchart), clinical trial management systems (e.g. OnCore) and other data entry systems.

Salary Range

$22.74 - $34.68
