Position Summary

Join Deloitte's Government & Public Services (GPS) practice as a Senior Consultant, Data Engineering and help deliver data solutions that support mission-driven outcomes. In this role, you will contribute to the design, build, and execution of data engineering and conversion solutions for government clients. You will work across data migration, integration, and validation activities to help clients modernize platforms and scale their data capabilities within Deloitte's US Delivery Center model.

As a Senior Consultant, Data Engineering on the GPS AI & Data team, you will be responsible for...

  • Designing, building, and supporting data pipelines and integration workflows for client-facing data platforms and conversion initiatives
  • Performing data mapping, transformation, migration, and validation activities across source and target systems
  • Analyzing data requirements and translating business and technical needs into implementation-ready solutions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot data issues, support testing, and maintain delivery timelines
  • Preparing documentation, status updates, and implementation artifacts to support project execution and stakeholder alignment

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or data migration delivery
  • 3+ years of experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • 2+ years of experience performing data conversion, data mapping, transformation, and validation activities
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role

Preferred:

  • 1+ years of experience supporting government or public sector data programs
  • Experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) or extract, load, transform (ELT) tools
  • Experience working with Agile delivery methods
  • Experience creating technical documentation, data mapping specifications, and test artifacts
