This position is responsible for operating the process lines and other equipment, ensuring quality and consistency of product in the extrusion area. Conversion operators are responsible for performing quality checks and minor maintenance of process lines and other equipment.

Essential Duties:

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs all work in a safe manner; promotes and fosters a safe work environment.

2. Operates process lines and other equipment as necessary and performs minor maintenance tasks.

3. Measures product quality properties, inputs data into SAP, takes corrective action to maintain quality within specification.

4. Assists Line Lead or Area Leader in performing mechanical repairs.

5. Performs product changeovers, refers to the appropriate documents to verify correct changes have taken place and completes necessary paperwork.

6. Makes necessary adjustments to the lines, ensuring quality of product.

7. Assists other operators as needed.

8. Removes and grinds scrap from rolls and gaylords.

9. Notifies Area Leader/Shift Supervisor and/or maintenance of all equipment/process problems.

All Employees have the following compliance obligations:

  1. Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Product Compliance Policy.
  2. Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations and market demands.
  3. Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of Compliance Management System.
  4. Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar job/environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and ability.

Must be able to work effectively in a team-based environment, work 12-hour shifts with over time as needed, and follow directions and maintain positive relationships with employees.

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals, ability to write reports and routine correspondence, and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificate/License: Must have forklift operator license at time of hire/transfer or be able to obtain certification within 90 days of hire/transfer into job.
