Job description

Position Title: Production Data Clerk

Classification: Hourly, Nonexempt (Eligible to be paid overtime)

Reports to: Production Supervisor/Inventory Control Specialist

Supervisory

Responsibility: None

Position Summary/Purpose:

This position involves the operation of machinery and supporting computer program(s) to fill cases to set levels as well as assuring that customer specifications are met on packaging and labels.

Working Conditions:

Production environment with substantial time interacting with machinery and Forklift traffic. Requires the ability to stand, bend over, climb stairs and or ladders to access platforms.

Essential Functions:

  • Verify all customer information on Sale Order and set up scales and filling machinery accordingly.
  • Set filling machine controls for proper weights and feed requirements.
  • Must be able to repetitively lift finished cases weighing up to 30 pounds and palletize them.
  • Follow company procedures to ensure that inventory information is accurately recorded at filling machine location, or at inspection locations as needed for accurate batch completion.
  • Take the initiative to inform the Supervisor/Lead of any issues related to product flow, record keeping or any problems affecting data accuracy.
  • Effective English language literacy; oral and written communication skills
  • Provide support to other positions as questions and concerns arise.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience operating production machinery.
  • Ability to perform tasks properly and promptly with little supervision.
  • Firm understanding of machinery operations and controls.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and reporting requirements.
  • Preferred Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) skills.
  • Team player attitude with attention to detail.
  • A desire to understand how the work performed by this position impacts other positions in the company as well as the company as a whole.
