The role requires deep experience in data center systems (power, cooling, UPS, generators), strong client-facing skills, and a commitment to OSHA-level safety and mission-critical protocols.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day onsite leadership and supervision of craft personnel, subcontractors, and site logistics for data center construction and fit-out projects.

  • Conduct regular progress meetings with subcontractors, project management, commissioning agents and client representatives; prepare and deliver clear onsite reports and updates.
  • Ensure quality control by verifying installations against design documents, RFI responses, field sketches, and as-built documentation; manage non-conformance reports and corrective actions.
  • Oversee material staging, secure storage, and equipment protection to prevent damage and maintain site cleanliness and order.
  • Support commissioning activities and startup, including punch-list management, witness testing, sequencing, and coordination with operations and facilities teams to achieve successful turnover.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, change order impacts, and site labor productivity; provide input to schedule recovery plans and mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Mentor junior superintendents and foremen, promote best practices in mission-critical construction, and cultivate a collaborative, safety-first site culture.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, labor reports, safety records, and other documentation required for compliance and client audits.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on schedule, cost, quality and safety of data center projects.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience with at least 5 years as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on mission-critical or data center projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with data center systems: UPS, switchgear, generators, distribution, cooling systems and redundancy architectures.
  • OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety certifications preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing multiple subcontractors and interfacing directly with clients and commissioning teams.
  • Track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining strict quality and safety standards in mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, systems testing, and client acceptance procedures for data centers.
  • Proficient with project documentation tools (daily reports, RFIs, submittals) and comfortable using scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and mobile reporting tools.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or construction-related certification preferred (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering Technology).
