Responsibilities may include data entry, verification, and quality control. Data Capture professionals work with databases, spreadsheets, or specialized software to maintain records efficiently. Attention to detail and strong typing skills are essential for success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in data capture, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Data Capture professional, you need strong attention to detail, fast and accurate data entry skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent educational background. Familiarity with data management software such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or specialized database platforms is often required, and some employers may prefer experience with document scanning tools or OCR technology. Key responsibilities

  • Lead the development of technical solutions, system architectures, and technical proposal volumes to support DoD pursuits.

  • Synthesize requirements from DoD inputs such as BAA, RFIs, and requirements documents to develop solution architectures that align with customer needs and V2X development efforts.

  • Drive technical solution development for proposals by creating architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and technical standards, and guide these through review processes.

Job description

V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a Solutions Architect to lead the development of technical solutions, system architectures, and comprehensive technical proposal volumes to win competitive DoD pursuits. Youโ€™ll serve as the bridge between capture strategy and engineering execution, ensuring our proposals stand out technically and align perfectly with customer requirements. The role involves synthesizing various requirements from DoD requirements officers, BAAs, RFIs, and other requests to develop a solution architecture that aligns business capabilities with V2X planned technology development efforts. This role drives both technical and business solution development to shape and respond to future RFIs and RFPs, requiring leadership over multi-discipline engineering teams and integration with all aspects of the V2X business.

As our DoD-focused Solutions Architect, youโ€™ll turn customer needs into novel combat-ready capabilities by laying out the system architecture and shaping requirements that drive mission success across land, air, and sea. Youโ€™ll shape technical strategies for RFIs/RFPs, and partner with customers and business leaders to build tomorrowโ€™s defense solutions.

What Youโ€™ll Own:
  • Define and articulate technically discriminating solution architectures and high-impact win themes for major DoD acquisitions.
  • Develop and maintain system models (SysML/MBSE) to validate architectures and support Tradeโ€‘Space analysis in capture scenarios.
  • Translate disparate DoD inputs (BAAs, RFIs, requirements docs) into cohesive, endโ€‘toโ€‘end system architectures that align technology roadmaps with V2Xโ€™s development plans.
  • Lead technical solution development for competitive pursuitsโ€”craft architecture diagrams, interface specs, and technical standards, then champion them through proposal and design reviews.
  • Identify technical risks early, propose mitigation plans, and guide teams through tough tradeโ€‘space decisions.
  • Author and integrate the Technical Volume, ensuring seamless alignment with Cost, Management, and Schedule sections.
  • Partner with Business Development and the Chief Engineer to align capture strategy, shape white papers, and influence pursuit decisions.
  • Engage directly with DoD acquisition and requirements officers to refine roadmaps, mature tactical system needs, and ensure our architectures meet realโ€‘world mission demands.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and integration engineers to drive system design, validate interoperability, and oversee verification & validation activities.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend components, tools, and frameworks that accelerate development and boost performance.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers, teammates, and suppliersโ€”uncover new opportunities and drive continuous innovation.

Ready to architect the next generation of mission systems? Join V2X and lead solutions that power our warfighters. Apply now and make your mark on national defense.

Required Skills:
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance
  • 15+ years of systems, software, or hardware engineering experience, delivering complex solutions from concept through deployment
  • Proven track record partnering with DoD requirements officers and system owners to shape technical visions and refine mission needs
  • Deep understanding and application of Model Based Systems Engineering methods, tools and languages
  • Familiarity with DoD data interfaces, including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, CAN, and other vehicle/weaponโ€‘specific protocols
  • Analytical mindset and inventive problemโ€‘solving skills, tackling complex technical challenges with confidence
  • Experience with DoD platforms, weapons, avionics, or tactical systems
  • Handsโ€‘on expertise with DoD platforms, weapons, avionics, or tactical systems across land, air, and sea domains
  • Extensive capture management experience: interpreting RFPs/SOWs, developing BOEs, authoring technical volumes, and driving highโ€‘value proposal efforts
  • Strong communication skills, adept at engaging stakeholders from technical teams to senior leadership and military customers
  • Demonstrated leadership guiding crossโ€‘functional teams through capture, proposal, and early program execution phases
  • Ability to lead integrated product teams (IPTs) across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality disciplines
  • Selfโ€‘driven and accountable: consistently delivers highโ€‘quality work on schedule and autonomously solves complex challenges
Desired Skills:
  • Experience conducting competitive assessments, technical priceโ€‘toโ€‘win analyses, and winโ€‘strategy development.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multiโ€‘discipline teams through capture, proposal, and early program execution phases.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, translating complex technical concepts into compelling narratives
  • Prior work with DoD customers (US Army, US Navy, USMC, and/or USAF) on acquisition or sustainment programs
  • External Certification(s) as a Solution Architect and/or Technical Capture Lead (ex. The Open Group, Shipley, PMI)
  • Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance
