Job description

Voice and Data Cabling Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, terminate, and test voice and data cabling systems, including Cat 3-6A cabling and fiber optics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cabling infrastructure, including connectivity, performance, and equipment faults.
  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to ensure the successful completion of cabling projects within defined timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of cabling installations, including labeling, diagrams, and test results.
  • Adhere to industry standards and best practices for cabling installation, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulation.

Voice and Data Cabling Technician Qualifications:

  • experience as a Voice and Data Cabling Technician is a plus, with a focus on Cat 3-6A cabling and fiber optics.
  • Proficiency in installing, terminating, and testing various types of cabling systems, including voice, data, and fiber optics
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve cabling-related issues efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with clients, project managers, and team members.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, RCDD, etc) are highly desirable but not required.
  • install and service security cameras
  • Be able to install Conduit and raceway

*** Most often will be a 8-4 or 7-4 job, home all nights and weekends from base location in Muscatine IA. MUST be willing to work OT on occasional weekends and holidays. Some Travel job opportunities as well. But MAX 7 days of travel. Travel opportunities come between 3-5 times a year***
