United Utility Supply is recognized as one of the leading not-for-profit material supply organizations serving the rural electric market. UUS is headquartered in Louisville, KY and has five (soon to be six) satellite warehouses in Virginia, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana (later this year) and is owned by member cooperatives in 20 states. As a full line stocking distributor, UUS supplies a complete line of materials critical to the electric utility industry. Over the last several years, we have shown continued growth. Our organization specializes in the distribution of Transformers, Conductor, Poleline Hardware, Lighting, Underground Accessories, Grounding Equipment, Guying, Insulators, Protective Equipment, Distribution and Transmission Poles, Utility Tools, and Safety Supplies.

Currently searching for a Warehouse Lead in our Louisville, KY warehouse. The Warehouse Team Lead will assist the Warehouse Supervisor with day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This would include directing employees on the floor to workload assignments. The role would assist in daily activities including receiving and put away, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management and documentation. Support the planning of workflows and utilization of warehouse space and will assist in monitoring that safety and security protocols are upheld. Contribute to maintaining accurate inventory records by means of coordinating input receiving, and handling cycle counting as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will collaborate with the daily workflow on the warehouse floor in conjunction with the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Support the warehouse team members with questions and concerns, including training new warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Works closely with Receiving and Shipping Coordinator when issues arise with inbound or outbound material. (i.e. damaged material, shortages, overages, etc.)
  • Aid with the implementation of projects in the warehouse.
  • Coordinate with inventory team to ensure inventory procedures are followed in the warehouse.
  • Utilizes warehouse management system (WMS) to track, inquiry, and report on warehouse, shipping, receiving and inventory data.
  • Assist in warehouse emergency response to storms or other natural disasters, during workday, after hours or weekends as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by Leadership
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 2 years warehouse experience required; preferably with receiving material responsibilities.
  • Good communication skills, including ability to handle/resolve complaints or adversarial situations.
  • Forklift driver’s license required or ability to acquire one.
  • Computer experienced with Microsoft applications required, preferably with experience with WMS systems.
  • Constant walking and bending.
  • Lifting up to 75lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to travel when required.
