Feed Energy is seeking a motivated and curious AI & Data Intern to join our IT team. This role provides hands-on experience working with data, analytics, and emerging AI technologies to support business decisions and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, technically inclined, and excited about applying data-driven insights in a real-world environment. Success in this role means making a measurable impact - for example, reducing reporting turnaround times by 20% or improving data accuracy rates above 95%. Depending on timing and data infrastructure, top performers may have the opportunity to contribute to building an internal data chatbot that enables business users to query our data warehouse using natural language.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
  • Support the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visualizations
  • Work with IT and business teams to identify opportunities for data analysis and automation
  • Participate in AI-focused initiatives such as: 
    • Exploring machine learning models
    • Assisting with predictive analytics projects
    • Testing and validating AI solutions
  • Help design and document data pipelines and workflows
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and insights

Requirements

 Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduate in: 
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Analytics
    • Mathematics
    • Computer Engineering
  • Strong technical skills in the following areas: 
    • Proficiency in Python (including pandas and data manipulation libraries) and/or R
    • SQL and relational databases (e.g., ability to write queries with JOINs, aggregations, and filters to pull and transform data)
    • Data analysis concepts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, NLP,      generative AI/LLMs)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Familiarity with Claude and Agentic AI
  • Coursework or projects related to data analytics or AI
