Description:

The Data Analytics intern will gain hands-on experience working with business data, developing reporting solutions, and using analytics to help drive better business decisions within a growing technology services organization.

The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and interested in how data is transformed into meaningful insights. This intern will work closely with team members across the organization to review operational and business data, identify trends, and create dashboards and reports that provide visibility into key performance areas.

The Data Analytics Intern will gain knowledge of how data analysis impacts business decisions, achieve a greater understanding of decisions technology leaders in any industry must make, and sharpen skills in collaborating with professionals across multiple business functions. This is a temporary, seasonal position for the summer of 2027. Expected pay will be $15.00 to $17.00 per hour with the ability to work up to 40 hours per week at our headquarters in Overland Park, KS. This is an on-site position, starting Tuesday, May 25, 2027 and lasting until Friday, August 6, 2027.


Responsibilities:

  • Review, organize, and analyze various business datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate business insights
  • Work with internal teams to understand reporting needs and translate requirements into actionable analytics solutions
  • Clean, validate, and prepare data for analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve data collection, reporting processes, and operational visibility
  • Document reporting processes and provide recommendations based on findings
  • Present insights and findings to company leadership and team members
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in data analysis and business intelligence
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and data visualization tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and business processes
  • Experience with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics platforms
  • Basic understanding of databases and data structures
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices
  • Interest in IT services, technology operations, or managed service providers

Expectations:

  • Will be available via Slack or email to provide timely answers to coworkers, vendors, and customers
  • Must report to the Overland Park, KS office during scheduled work hours
  • Provide general office administrative assistance as needed
  • Complete product and vendor training/certifications as assigned
  • Must have or obtain a laptop for business use to provide seamless mobility in the office and remote access
