Role Overview:
The Director, Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence is a senior leadership role within DENSO North America's IT Digital Center (ITDC), responsible for defining the enterprise wide strategy for data, analytics, and AI and executing to deliver scalable, high-impact AI solutions across North American operations. This role serves as a key enabler of DENSO's AI first, data driven operating model. This role partners closely with technology and business leaders to translate data and AI capabilities into measurable business value while ensuring strong governance, security, and ethical AI practices.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the enterprise data analytics and AI vision aligned with DENSO's digital transformation strategy.
  • Lead development and deployment of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI use cases.
  • Establish scalable data platforms, analytics products, and AI pipelines in collaboration with cloud, data engineering, and cybersecurity teams.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to identify high-impact use cases and drive measurable ROI from analytics and AI investments.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams of data scientists, analytics engineers, and AI product leaders.
  • Define data governance, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI standards to ensure compliance, security, and trust.
  • Oversee external partnerships with technology vendors, system integrators, and research institutions.
  • Champion data literacy and analytics adoption across the organization through change management and enablement.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, AI, or advanced analytics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience delivering Analytics and AI solutions at enterprise scale, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, cloud platforms, advanced analytics, and AI/ML lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes for senior executives.
  • Experience leading global or cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with AI applications in manufacturing, quality inspection, predictive maintenance, or mobility systems.
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern data and AI platforms (cloud-native analytics, AI platforms, and data governance tools).
  • Experience establishing responsible AI, model risk management, and data ethics frameworks.
