Data Analyst (W2 only)

Location: Durham, NC (Locals preferred)

Introduction:

As a Data Analyst on our team, you will be responsible for uncovering insights from data that will drive strategic business decisions. You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders to communicate your analyses effectively and help shape the direction of our data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize data analytics visualization tools such as SQL and Power BI to analyze and interpret large, complex data sets.
  • Translate business requirements into complex SQL queries to extract relevant data for analysis.
  • Understand data lineage and track the flow of data from its origin to consumption.
  • Migrate legacy reporting processes into modernized analytical views, demonstrating strong data comparison skills.
  • Utilize data lineage tools such as Alation and Meta Center to enhance data governance.
  • Conduct statistical analysis and interpret data to provide actionable insights.
  • Work with cloud native data warehousing and data lake solutions, such as Snowflake, to optimize data storage and retrieval processes.
  • Design new platforms on cloud technologies/architecture, including Snowflake and AWS, using strong SQL skills.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques, such as SQL, SAS, R, and Python, to perform in-depth analysis.
Requirements:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor''s degree in business, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience using data analytics visualization tools, including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and SAP Business Objects.
  • Experience in data analysis roles with large complex data sets.
  • Experience writing and translating business requirements to complex SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quantitative research.
  • Strong level of SQL experience, including designing platforms on cloud technologies/architecture.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data lineage tools, such as Alation and Meta Center.
  • Knowledge of cloud native data warehousing and data lake solutions, especially Snowflake.
  • Experience with advanced analytics tools and techniques, such as SAS, R, and Python.
