Job description

Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a full-time DAS Technology Apprentice to join our team within the distributed antenna system (DAS), Technology Division. The DAS Technology Apprentice is a full time position with opportunities to grow and expand your knowledge in DAS/Technology.
The DAS Technology Apprentice position is an entry-level position for someone willing to learn basic coaxial and structured cabling principles. This position will report directly to an area Foreman or Project Foreman to produce on time and within budget while maintaining high levels of safety, quality, and craftsmanship. Project execution will be performed with a vision to exceed client expectations.
Major Duties
  • Install coaxial, UTP, and fiber-optic cables throughout new and existing buildings.
  • Install DAS, Small Cell, and wired and wireless network devices under the supervision of the project foreman.
  • Install equipment racks in telecom closets.
  • Assist with orienting antennas and system components based on engineered design.
  • Work on rooftops installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems, cabling, and equipment.
  • Perform maintenance & troubleshooting, under supervision.
  • Assist with completing connectivity and quality testing for coaxial, UTP, and fiber-optic cables.
  • Use and maintain hand tools, specialty tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Follow instructions accurately and complete assigned course of action.
  • Recognize safety hazards and perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Actively contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Demonstrates dependability with regular attendance and compliance to scheduled work hours.
  • Be a self starter.
  • Occasional travel. ~25% or less.
  • Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general construction and the use of hand and some power tools.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Great Customer service and communication skills.
  • Have a desire to progress in Information Technology Systems Division (ITS)
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Valid Drivers License and a Clean background.

WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm and Fridays 7:00am - 2:00pm.
